San Jose Giants lose at Rancho Cucamonga - San Jose Mercury News

Rancho cucamonga 11 S.J. GIANTS 8

San Jose had 15 hits and had at least on runner on base in every inning but the ninth, but the squad left 10 runners on base and three fielding errors led to six unearned runs for the Quakes on Saturday night at The Epicenter. Jarrett Parker's two-run double gave San Jose a 6-3 lead in the top of the third, but the Quakes rallied for three runs in the bottom of the frame before going ahead for good in the fourth on a rally that included a wild pitching and a throwing error. Parker drove in three runs, including his 15th homer of the season. The Giants dropped three games behind Modesto in the Northern Division race with nine games remaining. Palo Alto High product Joc Pederson, had two hits, raising his average to .324, hit his 18th home run and stole his 24th base for the Quakes.
